Cardboard is a disposable material that we see on every street corner and is used for packages, boxes and delivery items. Magazines, once as common as cardboard, and their advertising messaging now seem as dated as the “magazine object”. Mass-consuming, within the promotion of convenient disposable products over reusable, ecologically-friendly and long-lasting appliances and lifestyles, has led to the waste engulfing the world today. In this series, imagery from the 1950s is challenged by the subtrait of cardboard – pairing one form of garbage with another.
